Market
Purple Waves partners with small farms, independent makers, and neighborhood businesses to showcase the best of what our region has to offer. Our shelves feature thoughtfully chosen products from New York and nearby states, many sourced directly from local farms and vendors at the Morningside Farmers Market. Everything reflects our commitment to local, transparent sourcing and mindful packaging.
Dairy and Plant-Based
Our dairy section includes milk in returnable glass bottles, yogurts in glass jars, artisan cheeses, and butter from regional creameries. We also offer plant-based milks and yogurts made in small batches, along with vegan cheeses and organic, pasture-raised eggs from nearby farms.
Pantry Staples
The pantry is stocked with small-batch essentials such as jams, nut butters, grains, flours, beans, and pasta made from regionally grown ingredients. There is always something new to discover, from condiments and sauces to pickles and fermented vegetables that highlight seasonal produce and local flavors.
Grab-and-Go
Our grab-and-go section features freshly prepared salads, snacks, and breakfasts made in-house and packed in returnable glass jars, making it easy to enjoy wholesome, low-waste food on the go. Each morning we also bring in fresh breads and pastries from local bakeries.
Drinks and Treats
Sustainable snacks, sweets, and beverages round out the market. You’ll find responsibly sourced chocolates and snacks, kombucha, natural sodas, cider, sake, wine, and more. Each item is selected to make sustainable living both practical and inspiring while supporting local ecosystems and reducing waste.
Our Commitment
Organic and regenerative farming, ethical sourcing, and waste reduction guide everything we do. While avoiding plastic and other unsustainable materials is not always possible, we are committed to progress. We continue to expand our reusable jar and bottle return systems and to work with producers who share our vision for a more sustainable food culture.
Our list of partner farms, artisans, and local makers is always growing. You can find an up-to-date list below.
